BACKGROUND
The Polish Singers Alliance of America has been a musical home to over 300 member choruses, and thousands of singers in the USA and Canada, who promote and preserve Polish culture through song. From the Atlantic to the Pacific, generations of those born in Europe or North America have taken pride in the heritage of their native land, and the camaraderie among those who love to sing...in English, in Latin, and other languages, but particularly in POLISH! For many, it is the only opportunity to learn the beauty of Polish song and the proud history of the Polish nation. When our Holy Father first came to Canada and the USA in 1969 as Cardinal Karol Wojtyla, we joyfully and prayerfully greeted him and sang with him. Now, as Pope John Paul II, on a pilgrimage to Canada for World Youth Days, we again join in a hymn, reverently saluting his great moral and spiritual leadership. A nation's spirit is echoed in its songs, and we invite you to add your voices to ours to make this a world of true harmony. And, in order to not only PRESERVE, but to actively PROMOTE and SHARE our magnificent Polish culture with all our fellow residents of Canada and America, join your church choir...and then join one of our choruses of the PSAA! You will follow a great tradition, and revere a nation and people who produced a John Paul II! |
